Strategic and Regional Planning
I was the program manager for AECOM’s contribution of both the model places and real places studies to SPUR’s 2070 Regional Strategy. I was the key point of contact, prepared for and co-facilitated six external stakeholder workshops, createdcontent for final outputs, and managed inputs from AECOM’s urban design, landscape architecture, transportation, sustainability, and economics teams, SPUR, and from external stakeholders. The strategy was a multi-year initiative to envision a more equitable, sustainable and prosperous Bay Area for all — and propose bold strategies to get there. The strategy leverages the Bay Area’s strengths in innovative and progressive governance to address the enormous challenges it faces, from the cost of housing to the threat of sea level rise.

Istanbul Urban Transformation Masterplan. Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, Turkey
I was seconded in the client’s site office in Istanbul where I provided technical planning, sustainability, and resilience expertise, coordinatedacross disciplines both in-country and internationally, and coordinated the production of reports and stakeholder engagement. The citywide masterplan considered strategic direction at 1:100,000 scale to set the direction for a sustainable, resilient, and economically success Istanbul city region.
Gaza Spatial Vision
Palestinian Private Sector, Gaza, Palestine
I provided technical planning and sustainability inputs, developed the strategy, vision, goals, and priority projects, and supported the project management team to create and develop the final vision documentation. The project was completed on behalf of the Palestinian private sector and in collaboration with the Palestinian National Authority and international stakeholders. The project developed an integrated spatial and economic vision for the Gaza Strip, looking to 2050 with intermediate phases, assuming a progressive increase in openness and regional co-operation. It demonstrated the potential of Gaza to become a successful 21st century city, while identifying more than 70 catalytic projects, ensuring urgently needed investment is aligned with a larger vision.
