City Emissions Reports, Carbon Disclosure Project Cascais, Paris, Venice, Johannesburg, Oslo, Ravenna, and Durban

I interpreted and graphically represented emissions data and responses from participant cities and translated the results into the final emissions reports, as part of the CDP work in collaboration with C40.

Belfast City Green and Blue Infrastructure Masterplan and Open Spaces Strategy
Belfast City Council, U.K.

I was a technical expert and deputy project manager of the green (parks and open space) and blue (rivers and coastline) infrastructure plan and open space sustainability plan for the City of Belfast. The plans provided startegy direction and evidence to support policy development and adoption for the city’s first Local Development Plan. The work involved reviewing all existing assets and setting a vision, objectives and actions plan for new and enhanced spaces, and extensive internal and external stakeholder engagement to gain input and build consensus.

Central Bedfordshire Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SuDS) Guidance
Central Bedfordshire Council, U.K.

I was a technical expert and co-author of the sustainable drainage guidance to be used by developers and practitioners across the county of Central Bedfordshire, U.K.. The guidance document was a supplementary planning document intended to clarify the role of the unitary authority and to establish local SuDS design standards. The guide acts as a key reference document, detailing what is required and what is deemed suitable for SuDS.

Water Sensitive Urban Design Guidance (WSUD) Construction Industry Research and Information Association (CIRIA), U.K.

I provided technical expertise, conducted research, prepared best practice case study examples, and delivered technical content for the final study. The WSUD Guidance study identified key ‘agents for change’ through which the planning and urban design process in the U.K. could enable the delivery of more beneficial water management systems. The study analyzed relevant legislation and planning processes across the U.K. to determine how well water management is considered, and how this could be improved. The study brought together a wide range of stakeholders to gather technical input and guidance, which informed the final study documentation.
